2025 Annual Impact Report
A year of record impact, new milestones, and renewed hope for thousands of families.
Letter from Maria Reyes
2025 was the year we stopped asking whether ending homelessness was possible and started proving it. We housed more families than any year in our history, launched our first health clinic, and built partnerships that will sustain this work for a generation.
— Maria Reyes, Founder & Executive Director
When I started Harbor Hope in 2006, I had a folding table, a donated phone, and a church basement. What I did not have was a guarantee that any of it would work. Nineteen years later, I am humbled — and honestly a little stunned — by what this community has built together.
2025 was our most ambitious year yet. We expanded our Emergency Shelter by 40 beds, opened the Harbor Hope Community Health Clinic in partnership with Riverside Health Systems, and launched a dedicated case management track for youth ages 18 to 24 who are experiencing homelessness for the first time. None of this happens without you — our donors, volunteers, and partners who show up year after year. Thank you.
2025: A Record Year
Every number represents a real person whose life is different because of your support.
What We Accomplished in 2025
Each of our core programs reached new heights last year — driven by your generosity and the dedication of our team.
Emergency Shelter
Welcomed 847 new guests in 2025 — a 23% increase over the previous year. We added 40 beds mid-year to meet rising demand, maintained 24/7 staffing throughout, and launched a dedicated family wing with on-site child care four evenings a week.
Job Placement
612 residents secured employment in 2025, with a median starting wage of $19.40/hour — 14% above the regional minimum wage. Our partnerships with 38 local employers created a direct pipeline from our job readiness classrooms to real careers.
Housing Navigation
Placed 401 individuals and families into permanent housing in 2025 — the most in our organization's history. Our expanded team of housing navigators worked with 67 landlord partners to secure affordable units, often in under 45 days.
Where Your Money Goes
We believe you deserve to know exactly how every dollar is put to work. Here's how we allocate contributions.
Every dollar possible goes directly to shelter, meals, case management, and housing navigation for those we serve.
Operational costs that keep our staff trained, our facilities safe, and our systems running effectively.
Outreach and donor relations that sustain long-term funding for our mission.

Voices from Our Community
Behind every number is a person. Here are two of the thousands of stories from 2025.
I came to Harbor Hope with my two kids after leaving a dangerous situation. I didn't have a dollar to my name or a plan. Within three months, they helped me get stable housing, enroll my kids in school, and start a part-time job. A year later, I have my own apartment and a full-time position. I cry thinking about where I could have ended up.
After I lost my job, I lost my apartment. I was too ashamed to tell anyone. Harbor Hope gave me a bed, a hot meal, and — most importantly — someone who believed in me when I didn't believe in myself.
2026 Goals
We're setting ambitious targets for the year ahead. Here's what we're working toward.
Open a Second Shelter Location (60 beds)
We've identified a location in the Eastside neighborhood and are in active negotiations. This expansion will serve an underserved part of the city where shelter options are limited.
